Brute force attack prevention in Shibboleth IdP.

Hi,

I know this is not a topic on this list, but maybe someone can help me.

Is there any mechanism in Shibboleth IdP to mitigate brute force attack?
Any suggestions for mechanisms (e.g. captcha) used by academic federations
with Shibboleth?

We try to follow the best practices of the academic community and I
appreciate all your suggestions.
