Shibboleth SP 3 causes issues with the Crystal Reports Runtime Engine

Hi

We have installed the Shibboleth Service Provider 3 on a Windows Server 2019 x64 machine with "Configure IIS Support" checked to use the iis7_shib.dll.

When this is installed ALL websites (whether integrating with Shibboleth for SSO (via Shibboleth2.xml) or not) that are using the SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework (we are using the latest x64 v. 13.0.29.3671) fail to initialise the Crystal Report engine and return the following error -

"Retrieving the COM calss factory for component with CSLID {XXXXXX} failed due to the following error: 8007007f The specified procedure could not be found."

Uninstalling the Service Provider 3 and the reports render correctly.

When installing the Shibboleth Service Provider 3 on a Windows Server 2019 x64 machine without "Configure IIS Support" checked to use the isapi_shib.dll website not integrated into Shibboleth for SSO render correctly but any websites referenced in the Shibboleth2.xml fail to initialise the Crystal Reports runtime engine with the above error.

To resolve the issue we have to revert back to the Shibboleth Service Provider 2.6.1.4 and configure the sites using the old isapi_shib.dll. In this scenario ALL websites are able to initialise the Crystal Reports runtime engine and render the reports correctly.



I would like to know whether there are any others that have found similar issues and whether there is a resolution to enable the use of Shibboleth SP 3 and Crystal Reports runtime engine?
