include statements in xml configuration files?

Ah ok, well in metadata-providers.xml we have something like:

<MetadataProvider id=..
...
<MetadataFilter xsi:type="EntityAttributes">
...
<Entity>https://github...</Entity>
<Entity>https://github...</Entity>
<Entity>https://github...</Entity>
<Entity>https://github...</Entity>
</MetadataFilter>
</MetadataProvider>

Those git hub entity ids I can get just by grepping out of the metadata file - automatically and periodically. No need in this case to modify metadata-providers.xml itself if I can source the data from an external file. I can then just automatically and periodically refresh the MetadataResolver service.

Tthat's exactly what properties do. I keep coming back to the fact that there's a high probability that whatever it is you want to do can be done.
