attribute-map.xml changes not visible in apache

Thanks for the swift reply, but apache was restarted several times.
Also another test system shows that apache needs no restart or any change (like "reload config"), restarting the shibd is enough to make the attribute changes visible on the backend app server.

I'll try another restart of it, just to make sure.
