Comprehensive documentation for installation of Shibboleth IDP 4 on Mac OS with Jetty 10

Hi,

I have just set up a IDP on Ubuntu. I have enabled Password Auth and configured OpenLDAP Server on localhost and enabled the Hello World module. But when I go to the

http://xx.xxx.xxx.xx:8080/idp/profile/admin/hello

I am pushed to:

http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:8080/idp/profile/admin/hello?execution=e1s1

and I get a "Web Login Service - Stale Request" And my Jetty log has the following:

org.springframework.webflow.execution.repository.NoSuchFlowExecutionException: No flow execution could be found with key 'e1s1' -- perhaps this executing flow has ended or expired? This could happen if your users are relying on browser history (typically via the back button) that references ended flows.

Any help solving this will be appreciated. Is there not a clear step by step guide for doing this? I have tried to follow several on the web BUT they just get all messed up and most times what they write does not match what happens 😉.

Thanks Peter. I managed to get going on a Windows Installation instead. Will consider using that experience to install my Macbook once I am ready. Cheers. Kay.

You can either work with the existing documentation and figure out how
Jetty 10 differs from Jetty 9.4 (and maybe contribute the required
documentation changes to the project wiki) or opt to use the software
versions for which documentation does exists (Jetty 9.4).

Of course bearing in mind the System Requirements wiki page where
looking for macOS you'd fall through to this:

should get you a working system, I would hope.
(I couldn't day, I'm still deploying the IDP with Tomcat.)

How and where you'd get the required JVM and Java Servlet Container in
compatible versions is up to you and/or your OS vendor.
