Idp/SP with MDQ: are Cache-Control and conditional gets honoured?

I think that my question is summarized in the subject.

 

I am wondering whether IdP and SP takes in consideration?

-          Cache-Control response header from MDQ server - and consider the
provided metadata valid during the provided max-age duration (SHOULD in MDQ
draft)

-          ETag reponse header - then provide If-None-Match request header
back on subsequent requests and accept 304 return code (MUST in MDQ draft)

 

I gave an eye to both IdP and SP source code, and from what I read up to
now, I don't think they do.

Actually, conditional get seems to be supported by the IdP for
HTTPMetadataProvider - but this one doesn't do MDQ.
