Why not mention this in your original post? I'd not have made the
effort to explain all that yet again.
(No, it's not a sane default to assume people have read and understood
the relevant documentation before asking questions.)

Seems you're looking for an official answer from the project (why some
feature was deprecated without an entry in the release notes) which I
can't provide, but Scott et al. certainly can and will.
