More important than the frequency of occurrence would be the 'popularity' of those services. More integrations should correlate with more variation in configuration.

11,652 entityID values exist.
865 of them have at least 1 uppercase letter.
7.42% - which is not very many as you indicated. But that does not
include all the non-InCommon member entityID values a site might have.

I didn't write it, so I don't know what the rationale was. I don't even believe in displaying it (outside of consent), so I don't really pay much attention to it.
There will be new templates coming at some point that redo the look and feel and have better CSS, I may end up reviewing some of it then or just removing a lot of extraneous stuff and parking it in wiki examples or a How To.
I'm surprised that didn't trip up many more deployers as the short
name of the service being part of the DNS name the entityID is also
based on is not all that uncommon, IMO.
Probably not, but usually the case is different. Few entityIDs have upper case.
