You really can just file a bug and not waste a lot of time, but we need samples to actually test and not assume the test environment matches (the LDAP settings don't matter, only *how* they're set, not what they are).

I can't see how to get that error out of the box, so I'm very certain you're not running this just out of the box. There's something else involved, I just don't know what.
