ldap authenticator problems

The defaults look a bit off to me. I can't test it until a bit later today and confirm my concern about it but if you're just installing from scratch and configuring it without trying to apply any old files, then it's pretty likely there's a (serious) bug in the new wiring. I don't think the workaround will be that hard but I'll have to see what exactly is wrong.

    Brand new with no attempt to upgrade improperly? That would be a bug, a difficult one to imagine given what our tests exercise.
