Shib proxying to ADFS

I am working on Shib proxying to another Idp (ADFS)  as per the below article. Question is about the refeds-mfa profile requirement that the idp should communicate the AuthnContextClassRef back to SP.
In proxied scenario, should AuthnContextClassRef be handled by Shib or ADFS? If ADFS, does anyone know if ADFS can support custom AuthnContextClassRef?
