Shibboleth Idp 4+ MFA: is Azure MFA possible? If so, how?

Nobody has yet provided any documentation on the integration path for Azure MFA, and there are bigger fish to fry at the moment with Duo changing for us to have gone hunting. I would imagine integrating it amounts to SAML or OIDC proxying and ultimately means syncing passwords to Azure. SAML proxying is already supported natively.
