Password for IDP.key contains '&' in password [XML error on startup ]

Hi,
I've setup for IDP2.x . But it fails to start with the new cert.
The password contains '&' so it throws sax xml error at startup.
Password is mention in below tag in relying-party.xml. I've  tried both using & and & but both didn't work.

<security:PrivateKey password="">/opt/shibboleth-idp/credentials/idp.key</security:PrivateKey>

Is there any other alternative to this apart from getting a new password?
