Thanks for the explanations.

Would an RFI for supporting "any"/"all"/"*" (after earlier filters
have possibly reduced the set of entities) be welcome?

(I can't promise the use-case would still be around once the next SP
release happens, though, as we'd have to deal with that right now.)
