The same as any other case, but ideally you don't, there should never be anything you need to tailor in the majority of cases. Tthis is not any different than it would be if they fully supported InCommon, registered there, etc. I don't really get what it is you're trying and failing to do, but if you specifically state what the behavior is you want to control, that's a much more concrete question.
