I wouldn't have any idea what to do about it, so it amounts to the same thing for me. I didn't explicitly close the bug myself, the person that filed that one simply said they were satisfied, so that's why I closed it.

I don't know any of the answers to your questions, it's not my area of the system. Brent might have some idea so filing a bug would seem to be the best choice.
