Shibboleth SP v3 for PeopleSoft

We have been using Shibboleth for PeopleSoft Campus Solutions authentication for several years with great success. We are just now looking into the move from SP v2 to SP v3. This turns out to cause a significant problem for our PeopleSoft developers because the FUNCLIB_LDAP.LDAPAUTH code uses a Request class that appears to only have methods for obtaining HTTP headers, not for obtaining server variables.

Have others discovered a way for the PeopleCode in FUNCLIB_LDAP to obtain values from server variables?
