I think the log message I'm seeing is a bit spurious, but it leads me to speculate that your subject-id value is not scoped, which is not legal. The logs aren't 100% clear I think due to a bug in the SP but that's the inference. If that's ruled out, I'd have to do more digging and probably some testing on my own.
