Christine,

You shouldn't need to change anything anywhere.  You should just need to construct the right URL for your IdP, which depends on how Ping Identity was designed:

https://docs.pingidentity.com/bundle/p1_initiatingSSO_cas/page/p1_idpInitSSO.html

and include the Shibboleth entityID in the request.  You may need to modify the web server settings for other things, like fixing the hostname or forcing TLS, but things should "just work" otherwise.
