Preventing line break in base64 SignatureValue

Good morning.

I'm using opensaml 2 (which I'm tied to, unfortunately), and I'm signing an
assertion I've created using opensaml, and it's signature interface.

I need to make sure the signatureValue element in the generated signature
does NOT have the 76 character line break, and I'm hoping there's a way to
do it.  I can't modify it afterward, since it's an enveloped signature and
that would break the signature.

Is there a way to do this?  I've tried the ignoreLineBreaks system property,
and that doesn't prevent the base64 linebreaks.
