query on impact after renewal of certificate

Thanks for you guys.
Rod, now I have a self-signed untrusted certificate from OpenSSL which will
expire after 10 years and same I have used in shibboleth whereas SSL
certificate generated from Certbot which is valid for 3 months I have used
for the website.
so renewing certificate after 3 months for the website would not affect
shibboleth. please correct me if I am wrong.
