I don't know if EZProxy has an issue with long tickets or corrupts them, but whatever the problem is, it's not passing back tickets the CAS code can decrypt. You can switch to server storage with the other/older ticket service implementation and deal with clustering, or you could just use SAML, Ezproxy has quite good SAML support considering.
