custom interceptor, where to put java code?

I have a simple Java class that is making a webservice call. I wish to
execute it from my interceptor flow. I know I need to put the java code in
the classpath. Where would be the best location so it will not be an issue
when I upgrade shibboleth?

It's also not clear to me how to define the interceptor bean to make the
java call.
