Hyperlinks to Shib Protected Apps in Microsoft Word

Microsoft Office documents have a known behavior of pre-validating a URL path when clicking any link in an Office document and returning the first 200 response to the user (in the name of UX), but it tends to do this poorly and without much of the required context to complete a SAML flow properly.
We've never found an acceptable solution to this. The fix for this behavior is unique to each machine. I can't remember the MS KB article about it but I know one exists.

Login at the IdP requires multiple round trips. The ability to handle
redirects and cookies are required. Apparently that isn't happening.
Hope this helps,
Tom
