HOW to setup URL Redirect for accessing a Linux server?

If the MS-Windows web server with the Shib SP also serves as reverse
proxy then it would proxy to the "linux server", not redirect the web
browser to go there.
But then that "linux server" MUST NOT be accessible directly (i.e.,
without going through the proxy), it would essentially be invisible to
the outside and only known to and accessible through the reverse proxy.

If that's not an option or what you intend then Nate gave you other ideas.
(Short version: Use option A and put a Shib SP on the "linux server".)
