Maybe that should be revisited since support for dynamic modules
exists since a few years now:
"In NGINX 1.9.11 onwards a new way of loading modules dynamically has
been introduced."[1]
Both Debian 9 and CentOS 6 already package with Nginx 1.10, so I guess
less traditional distributions wouldn't carry older Nginxen either.
