Shibboleth SP Apache module sharing attributes with another apache module

Could you populate them in request_rec->notes using a normal apache
type table - so we can get at them from our module?   We are in the
hacky situation of we have enable headers, we don't want, just to pass
information between modules, then we have to delete the headers before
they are released because they are screwing up a down stream app  .
