With the semi-packaged application I primarily support and integrate with, there have been an unfortunate number of times in the last few years when thorny problems have involved needing to look in detail at network traffic and Windows ProcMon activity to prove to vendors that their logging is inadequate or just plain incorrect.

Since we do SSL-offload at our load balancer, connecting directly to the host via SSL is introducing different details (from the servers point of view) during troubleshooting.

None of that is a problem most days or even most months of the year, but I try to be cautious and think "if I give up this option or make this change, how would I have been able to troubleshoot other problems in the past?".

Not a huge problem, just something that I was surprised wasn't possible- but it also clearly isn't something many people care if I can't find anyone else asking the same question in the mailing list archives and the rest of the internet.
