I understand that perspective, but on initial review it didn't seem unclear. Perhaps a bullet point in the release notes/upgrade guide?

Yeah, not supporting the latest encryption mechanisms is at least better than not supporting encryption at all, which more than one of our cloud providers are guilty of <sigh>...
