We've gone the other way (integrating APM as an SP with Shib IdP) and
no real problems.  From what I've seen in demos their SAML
implementation is very flexible, so you shouldn't run into issues with
hard-coded non-conforming attributes or other nonsense.

The APM IdP can actually do attribute transformations when used as an
intermediate--I've floated the idea of using it as a "doghouse" IdP
for non-conforming SPs that require oddly named attributes that we
already offer (*cough* Slack *cough*).
