We've been running with HTML Local Storage enabled in production at Iowa since late January / early February 2016 with no reported issues.

Subject: Switching to HTML Local Storage for Sessions--Any Issues?
For the past few years we have been using JPAStorageService (with a clustered MS-SQL DB) for session storage in our Shibboleth IdP cluster (currently version 3.3.1.) To simplify configuration we are looking at switching to ClientSessionStorageService with htmlLocalStorage. The config for it is simple and it has worked just fine in our sandbox environment but I don’t really have a good way to test it ‘at scale.’
Has anybody used the htmlLocalStorage option in their prod environments and, if so, experienced any widespread client issues or other support issues with this method? The docs for the option provide a mixed-message stating that the devs have “relatively little experience with use of Local Storage” and “OSU has been using this for [1 year] without issues.”
