It's Java, so we wouldn't expect that to matter and I'm certainly not on that.

I have a fairly high load, and I see a very small number of them.

Because it's happening in the midst of leaving the state where a user would be submitting the form, it's pretty likely some form of timeout related issue and the login would be failing no matter what. You're welcome to file a bug, but I don't think the issue is serious enough to warrant much effort.
