Omg, I can't help but laugh at myself. You're right. Removing the trailing space fixed the problem. Now, I'm off to deal with the next. I will file a bug report for that soon.

It's the former:
<alias name="%{idp.authn.LDAP.authenticator:anonSearchAuthenticator}" alias="shibboleth.authn.LDAP.authenticator" />
That should have a trim() on the property expression to chop the accidental whitespace, you should file a bug on that. Just an unfortunate omission you happened to trip.
