Right, so the point is if you set it false, then just deploy that change and leave Puppet out of it. Once on each node, more or less, it will take the full time, and then it will generally not.
If you can't afford it to ever take the time, then there's not much choice but to go around it and never verify the signature inline.
I suspect it has hit the tipping point. Mine took a full 90 secs just to parse and it's still humming away on the signature. I'm doing the full file and not the IdP only but it certainly confirms things. Better to know it's nothing unusual.
It was inevitable. The Java signature code is better implemented, luckily.
I will urge InCommon to take notice, because I do have strings, but ultimately they need to hear from the participants that standing up the replacement is a priority.
