I actually develop/debug under the 32-bit build in fact. Heap size could start to become an issue, but I haven't seen it myself.

With eduGAIN included, the size does grow in jumps, and it's possible it just hit a new threshold since I last did any testing. The code is going to fall off a cliff in ways that are hard to predict, it's probably not linear once it starts failing.
