If you mean you accessed the reload-service endpoint and completely reloaded the metadata configuration, it will essentially re-process everything you give it from scratch, and any changed file locations will be honored. Changing the config but then using the reload-metadata endpoint to reload a *specific* identified metadata provider will not do that, it will operate based on the original XML config it had to start with when the metadata-providers.xml file first got loaded.
