SHIBBOLETH SP - Shibboleth handler invoked at an unconfigured location - Shibboleth.sso/Session/

I am trying to get a shibboleth sp (2.5.2) configured on Ubuntu 14.04LTS and Apache2.4.7.  When I go to https://mysite/secure/index.php, it works properly, I can authenticate, etc. but when I go to https://mysite/Shibboleth.sso/Status (or any other https://mysite/Shibboleth.sso/*) I get the following message:

I have examined every config file I can find, every setting I can think of.  I turned on debug mode for native.logger and shibd.logger but not found anything.

What is wrong? or where should I look?

Note: Shibboleth 2.5.2 is the version installed when I executed sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-shib2
