A reverse proxy can host a Shibboleth SP, yes.

Yes, this is an open source project and all the code is available. There are a dozen dependencies, none of which will probably build cleanly on that platform. If it's Linux, you probably have a chance. If not, it's hopeless. Either way, we will not support it.
