Skip Reauthentication of user

Hi All,

I have a question :

To skip the re-authentication of the users tagged under federation, we have a requirement to upgrade the Shibboleth version from 2.4 to 2.6.

I have no idea about the changes .To meet  the requirements  I need to upgrade  only  SP/ ID  or both.

Please provide some direction.
