That was badly worded, I agree with that. The updated SP package is Windows only, the Linux update is to xmltooling, and that's packaged separately everywhere but Windows.

The problem one tends to have is that people that do patch Linux also seem to be under the impression that Linux can be patched without rebooting, and that's often not the case (in the sense that you don't know, unless you know specifics, as to what might have to get restarted to pick up a patch change). So that's a common source of confusion, and had I not been rushed at the time I probably would have done a better job of communicating specifics (e.g. restart shibd after...)
