No, it seems like a bug or an issue with key size perhaps, but a current version shouldn't be crashing on large keys.

I don't have a reason yet to conclude anything, it would be much more likely to be a bug in the code. Filing a bug with a sample that crashes it reproducibly would be the next step. If it's not reproducible that will be much more difficult to deal with.
