Split displayName to givenName and cn

Thank you all for the inputs. Sorry I forgot to mention that the displayname is in our case #Joan Paul Jones# and we would like to strip off # and populate  cn=Joan Paul Jones and givenName=.

Right. You can make all the assumptions you like, in which case you can go read the SP documentation (see NativeSPAttributeResolver) on the Transform plugin to see how to do it, but they are ultimately assumptions and the real answer is that you really can't do this if you don't control the IdP.
