custom login page set up

I followed the above doc in setting up custom login page.  I removed login.vm and I have a custom login.jsp in webapps folder. I can see the custom login screen but after submitting login and password, I get 404 error. The url is "xyzidp.com/shibboleth-idp/profile/SAML2/POST/j_security_check". What are the other steps that need to be the followed?
