Can the SP log the HTTP requests to/responses from a MetadataProvider URL?

Folks,

Can the Shibboleth SP log the HTTP requests to a MetadataProvider URL and log the headers and contents of the responses, similar to the org.apache.http class that’s in the IdP?

I’ve turned general debugging to DEBUG and XMLTooling.libcurl up to TRACE and it tells me "2016-09-08 16:07:49 DEBUG XMLTooling.libcurl.InputStream : consuming 91 buffered bytes” but I don’t know how to make the SP log the traffic.
