The OP's.  I assume that comparing behavior of an IdP running in Tomcat on a VM to Jetty in a container on this granularity implies this is a dedicated test environment and a dedicated tester.  That could be totally wrong, but I would be surprised.

That's what I meant by being unable to make any strong inferences here.  I constantly make a bunch of weak inferences(though I believe they're in the right direction) without explicitly stating them when I can't imagine another context in which the question would be asked.

Your answers are precise and accurate, but mine are general hunches in the name of troubleshooting.
