That doesn't mean the solution is to start over, because nothing else solves those two problems anyway.

I didn't suggest starting over.  It's the ideas, not the implementation, and those are recycled.

Because that's more complex while adding no new functionality, and because applications want strings, period.

All I want is a string, too.  Just one of them, not two or three.  Apparently, that's exactly what DocuSign wants, too.

No argument regarding market forces, but in this specific instance, we're apparently behind the curve.  I hope to have it happen more.
