That audit format is designed to match V2. It doesn't tell you whether the request succeeded or failed because you didn't change it to do that, and that wasn't something V2 logged. The request failed, for the reason you already know.

I suspect we're about at the point where fixing the default log format to be useful is more valuable than continuing to make it compatible with a version anybody I care much about accomodating should already have upgraded from.
