I don't think using RPM with Ubuntu makes a great deal of sense. If you want support, use CentOS or SUSE. If you want to use Shibboleth on a Debian OS, use Debian, not Ubuntu.I don't believe anybody should be using Ubuntu with it based on the lack of diligence with packages there, but if you insist on it, use the packages available for it or build from source.
