Either they're byte identical or not, there's no way to tell from a directory listing and I have never checked. As a source package it really shouldn't matter, any differences should be cosmetic.

RPM is by far the simplest I have used but the problem isn't the packaging, it's reliably managing dozens of builds across operating systems and capturing the results.
