This isn't proving practical at the moment. However while I wouldn't swear this will work, it's possible that modifying the yum repo definition file to use a baseurl and key location of downloadcontent.opensuse.org instead of download.opensuse.org will bypass the broken mirror links. That seems to be working but I haven't tried a from scratch install that way yet.

If that turns out to be the easiest long term fix I'll probably just provide modified copies of these files for use. The mirrors in practice have been unreliable and aren't very geographically helpful anyway.
